What To Consider When Buying Reusable Nappies
Just Health's has one of the largest range of reusable nappies and wet bags in Australia. We offer over 100 nappy designs. These include nappies for slightly smaller babies to 3-15kg babies/toddlers, those undergoing potty training and nappies that is suitable for swimming. We also sell waterproof wetbags that can hold dirty nappies.
Which is the right type of reusable nappy for my bub?
Our nappies are made from fleece or charcoal bamboo. This is dependent on how well it adapts to your baby's skin sensitivity. So you might want to buy one of each to try it on.
Some parents prefer the single thin layer of fleece lining with the waterproof outer shell (either PUL or TPU) mixed with a few differernt inserts as this will dry faster and is more absorbant allowing the inserts do the work. Other parents like the extra double gusset which can be used with less inserts. This may help with leakage but it will dry slower than the single fleece layer.
How to choose the right type of reusable insert to use:
We have microfiber, cotton, bamboo, charcoal bamboo, and hemp inserts. These have different benefits and drawbacks.
Microfiber is a synthetic material that is highly absorbent and dries quickly. However, it can be less breathable than other materials, and some people may find it less comfortable for their baby.
Cotton is a natural, breathable material that is soft and comfortable for babies. It is also highly absorbent and can be easily washed and dried. However, it may take longer to dry than other materials and may not be as absorbent as microfiber.
Bamboo is a natural and sustainable material that is soft and comfortable for babies. It is also highly absorbent and dries quickly. Bamboo is naturally anti-bacterial, hypoallergenic and breathable, making it an ideal choice for babies with sensitive skin. However, it can be more expensive than cotton or microfiber.
Hemp is a natural and sustainable material that is known for its durability and absorbency. It is also highly breathable and resistant to odors. However, it can be stiffer than other materials and may take longer to dry.
Ultimately, the choice of which material to use will depend on personal preference, budget and the specific needs of your baby. So we sugest you try a few before purchasing the bulk pack.
